EU and ILO: Shaping the future of work

“EU and ILO: Shaping the future of work”

Project description:

The 100th anniversary of the International Labour Organisation in 2019 is seen as an opportunity to both take stock of its achievements and governance, focussing on the contribution of EU legislation and policies, and look at current and future challenges in the world of work, and ways to address them jointly by ILO and EU.

Objectives of the project:

The overarching goal of this study is to propose a robust and dynamic collaboration model between the ILO and the EU by providing an up-to-date review of the current approach and cooperation between the agencies in view of new challenges brought forward by the changing world of work. The research work will be structured according to the following research objectives:

1) Analysis and review of past cooperation;

2) Perspectives for the future.

Additionally, the study will take a focused approach through the EU angle and avoid duplication with the upcoming ILO Commission report, by studying the ILO available publications.
