Belarusian Economy: the Improvement of Analytical Tools and their Active Promotion

Description

Belarusian Economy: Improvement of Analytical Tools and Active Promotion was a project allowing macroeconomic teams from CASE and IPM Research Center to continue working on the Belarusian analytical-forecasting quarterly Belarusian Economic Outlook (BEO). Rafał Antczak coordinated work of both teams. The IPM CASE team worked on improving the quality of the forecasts, and in preparing plans to actively promote them. A questionnaire survey was carried out in the second quarter of 2004 among 300 respondents from financial institutions, commercial companies, embassies and NGOs. This indicated that potential subscribers to BEO are particularly interested in the problems of economic growth foreign trade, inflation, macroeconomic stability and development of the private sector. To the satisfaction of the entire team, the quarterly received from the majority of respondents a '4' or '5' on a five-point scale.
