Mediterranean Prospects for 2030 - Project Event

A scientific workshop of the MEDPRO project was held on November 2nd and 3rd in Milan, Italy.  Researchers participating in MEDPRO presented their work in progress and began to discuss the economic scenarios within the project work packages.  The workshop reunited researchers from all participating institutions in order to assess the economic projections of each topic covered by the project and to agree upon a methodology to integrate these partial scenarios into a more coordinated quantitative and qualitative framework for the region.  CASE was represented at the workshop by four experts Marek Dabrowski, Luc de Wulf, Robert Lanquar and Emmanuel Bergasse.

MEDPRO– Mediterranean Prospects is a consortium of 17 highly reputed institutions from throughout the Mediterranean funded under the EU’s 7th Framework Program and coordinated by the Centre for European Policy Studies based in Brussels. At its core, MEDPRO explores the key challenges the countries in the Southern Mediterranean region (from Morocco to Turkey) will have to cope with in the next decades.  The project aims to  provide the foundations for future policy on social and economic sustainable development, and to depict the role of the EU in providing new avenues for the future of EU-Mediterranean Partnership.

Within the project, CASE experts are contributing to overall scientific coordination, and are conducting research under the thematic areas of energy and climate change mitigation, economic development, trade and investment, human capital, social protection, inequality, and migration.
