In an unsurprising, yet reassuring, turn of events, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani last week was re-elected in a landslide, beating rival Ebrahim Raisi by 18.5% (almost 8 million votes). Katarzyna Sidło discusses the result of the presidential elections in Iran in the context of the country’s relations with the US and the EU, as well as the nuclear agreement signed by the country two years ago.
