Professor Lucjan T. Orlowski, Member of the CASE Advisory Council, receives an honorary doctorate from the University of Economics in Wroclaw

We are happy to inform that the Senate of the University of Economics in Wroclaw has awarded an honorary doctorate to Professor Lucjan T. Orlowski, Member of the CASE Advisory Council. Professor Orlowski, a distinguished economist of Polish origin, is a lecturer in economics and international finance and the head of the Department of Economics and Finance at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, USA.

 

In a letter announcing their decision, the authorities of the University of Economics in Wroclaw stressed that "the academic community (...) is honored to award this honorable distinction to a person of such outstanding academic achievements and tremendous accomplishments in the field of popularization of economic issues, a person committed to educating the next generations of economists and actively involved in economic practice, as well as maintaining cooperation with his home country on scientific, advisory and expert levels".

 

The ceremony awarding the honoris causa degree will take place on March 6th, 2014, during the annual Festival of the University of Wroclaw.
