In an interview for Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita a guest of 128th CASE BRE-Bank Seminar, Professor Charles W. Calomiris, reveals why he believes that the Western financial system is safer today than in 2008, talks about his doubts over the French banking system and shares his thoughts on the unequal treatment of the members of the European Union by the European Central Bank.

Professor Charles W. Calomiris, considered one of the world’s foremost financial historians, is a Professor of Financial Institutions at Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). He was a Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, served on the International Financial Institution Advisory Commission, a Congressional commission to advise the U.S. government on the reform of the IMF,  the World Bank, the regional development banks, and the WTO.
