Dr. Poniatowski is the Director of Fiscal Policy Studies at CASE and an Assistant Professor at the Warsaw School of Economics. His areas of expertise include macroeconomic policy, fiscal policy, taxation, and financial markets.
As a CASE expert, Dr. Poniatowski has been involved in over 30 research projects, evaluations, and impact assessments for governmental, international, and EU institutions on a variety of subjects. Currently, he is the Team Leader of the Study to quantify and analyze the VAT gap in EU-28 Member States; a Member of the Steering Committee and Task Leader in the Horizon 2020 project FIRSTRUN – Fiscal Rules and Strategies under Externalities and Uncertainties; and a Project Manager on the evaluation of the Study contributing to an Impact Assessment on Council Directive 2008/118/EC concerning the general arrangements for excise duty.
Dr. Poniatowski obtained his PhD from the Warsaw School of Economics, Department of Theoretical Economics. Additionally, he holds a degree from the Paris School of Economics, and a joint MA in Economics from the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He completed his MA and BA in Quantitative Methods in Economic and Information Systems at the Warsaw School of Economics.
