EU economic cooperation with CIS countries

Session academic objectives and its thematic scope

The purpose of the session co-organized by the CASE - Center for Social and Economic Research in Warsaw and CEFIR - Center for Economic and Financial Research at the New Economic School in Moscow is to present the selected results of a three-year Specific Targeted Research Project on "EU Eastern Neighborhood: Economic Potential and Future Development (ENEPO)" funded under the EU Sixth Framework Program, Priority 7, contract No 028736 (CIT5) conducted by the consortium of 11 research institutes from the EU, EEA and CIS.

The ENEPO project covered a broad range of issues related to economic development, trade, energy, investment, migration, institutional reforms and harmonization, development aid and political economy of the European Neighborhood Policy. For purpose of HSE conference we selected four presentations- two of them related to the level of economic development of CIS countries and two other addressing trade and institutional harmonization issues in respect to Russia and other CIS countries.
