Oskar Chmiel holds a master's degree in European Studies from the University of Wroclaw. Currently, he is a PhD Candidate at the Chair of European Studies at the University of Wroclaw, and the focus of his studies are European Union (EU) – Africa relations. Furthermore, he is particularly interested in the political and social aspects of trade and development cooperation (especially as regards the EU policies, as well as Polish foreign aid).
Prior to joining CASE, Oskar gained experience working, among others, as: an intern at the Polish Centre for African Studies (PCSA), an intern at the Istanbul Gelisim University, a Visiting PhD student at the University of Granada, a Visiting Researcher at German Development Institute (DIE), and a Visiting Fellow at the European University Institute (EUI) and the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU) in terms of Vibeke Sørensen Grant.
Currently, at CASE he participates in research projects on international cooperation, migration and labour markets.
