Fernando Montes-Negret, a Colombian national, is Sr. Financial Sector Expert at the International Monetary Fund. Prior to this position he was the Sector Director of the Finance and Private Sector Department of the Europe and Central Asia Region of the World Bank. He joined the World Bank in 1984, since then he held various positions working in, Europe, East Asia and in Latin America and the Caribbean Region.
