CASE seeks nominations for Fellow Positions

CASE - Center for Social and Economic Research is an internationally recognized policy research and policy advising institute dealing with a broad agenda of issues related to global and European economy, economic development and economic transition in Central and Eastern Europe, former USSR, Middle East and North Africa. Founded in 1991 in Warsaw, the organization has built up a team of researchers and experts from around the globe, and has established a network of daughter organizations in post-communist countries. Currently 24 members make up the CASE Fellows network.  Their expertise represents various fields of research and policy advising (their complete profiles are available at  http://www.case-research.eu/strona--ID-o_case_ludzie,nlang-710.html).  CASE welcomes nominations to expand this network.  Self-nominations are accepted. 

Nominated individuals should have expertise in the following areas:

- labor market
- social policy (including pension and other social welfare systems)
- international migration
- health economics
- education studies
- EU regional and cohesion policy

Candidates must posses a PhD degree in Economics or equivalent and have an outstanding record of research and publication track in leading international institutions, academic and professional journals.  There is no preference in respect to the nationality, gender and age of the candidates.  Fellows may be located anywhere around the world. 

The following characteristics of the candidates will be considered as an important asset in the selection process:
- a broader thematic spectrum of academic experience, expertise in more than one thematic area mentioned above;
- experience in preparing successful research proposals and conducting EU funded research projects (for example, within the FP5, FP6 and FP7);
- experience in organizing and leading international research teams working in various geographic locations

CASE Fellows play a key role in conducting and organizing CASE research activity.  Fellows are nominated for 2 year terms and enjoy benefits such as close cooperation with CASE in new project opportunities, use of the CASE affiliation (the Fellow position may be combined with other professional engagements), access to Electronic Libraries, support through the CASE Academic Excellence Program, support of CASE administrative staff, and the right to submit research to be published and disseminated by CASE, among other privileges.

The selection process will be based exclusively on professional criteria. The short-listed candidates will be invited a phone interview. CASE Management Board will inform the successful candidates about its selection decisions no later than October 31, 2010.
