Poland's Country paper for the International Conference on Transition Economies


Description

The paper (attached) was prepared as a part of the background preparations for the International Policy Conference on Transition Economies being hosted in Hanoi (Vietnam 31 May-1 June, 2004), organized by UNDP.
The main purpose of the paper was threefold: to facilitate the participation of the country's senior officials who will be participating at the conference; to enrich and help guide the policy debate at the conference; and to facilitate the inter-country exchange of knowledge, experience and lessons learned in transition. The paper assesed main developments of Polish reforms in the fields of macroeconomy, enterprise sector reform, labour market and social security system.
