CASE 2015 Annual Report released

“If 2014 appeared to be a turning point, 2015 represents a successful step towards our goal of becoming a preeminent think tank in Europe.” – President of CASE, Christopher Hartwell.

CASE – Center for Social and Economic Research released its Annual Report this week, detailing operations, projects, and accomplishments for 2015.  The year was a busy one for CASE, as the Center conducted 42 international projects, organized 18 events, and published 18 research papers. It was also a year of innovations and new challenges: CASE launched an innovative method for measuring inflation in Poland and created an online consumer inflation index, the Online CASE CPI, collecting data on prices in real-time.

In addition, CASE hosted numerous seminars, workshops and real time webinars featuring prominent guests from all over the world, including (among others) Professor Hans-Werner Sinn and Ivan Mikloš. An event of special importance was the 2-day international conference “The Political Economy of Place-Based Policies with a Focus on Special Economic Zones,” which gathered over 100 representatives from academic, NGO, and business sectors.

Finally, CASE was ranked as one of the best think tanks in Central and Eastern Europe (number 3 in the highly-respected University of Pennsylvania rankings) and also was recognized as the fourth-ranked social policy think tank in the entire world (a step up from the 2014 rankings).
