Transfer of Know-How for Small and Mid-Size Businesses in Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine

On 27th of November 2014, a conference “Transfer of Know-How for Small and Mid-Size Businesses in Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine” took place in Kiev. The meeting was attended by experts from Visegrad Group countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) and beneficiary (GMU) countries: Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, representatives of donors (USAID and International Visegrad Fund), as well as representatives of Ukrainian business organizations and academia.

During the event the participants examined the most important challenges facing SMEs in Visegrad and GMU countries and debated how to strengthen the European business and think-tank networks and assist the states in adopting SME-friendly policies. At the end of the conference, final documents of the project, so-called white papers, were presented.

Additionally, the conference participants talked about the ways of improving the ‘SME FORUM’, an international website established to support SMEs countries in their attempts to adjust national policies to European standards.
