At the request of President Askar Akayev Marek Dabrowski, Roman Mogilevsky and Robert Brudzynski participated in the UNDP mission in May 1999 and prepared the report on 'The Kyrgyz Republic and the Global Financial Crisis' (in Russian and English) containing both in-depth diagnosis of the Kyrgyz economy after 1998-1999 financial crisis and set of policy recommendations related to all key areas of economic policy and institutional reforms.

The report was presented to President Askar Akaev, the Government of Kyrgyzstan, National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Resident Representative of the UNDP in Kyrgyzstan and later was published in CASE "Studies and Analyzes" series (see below).
