CASE is seeking a COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

CASE – Center for Social and Economic Research is an independent, non-profit institute founded on the idea that research-based policy-making is vital for the economic welfare of societies. Established in Warsaw in 1991, CASE today is recognized as the top think tank in Central and Eastern Europe and is one of the most highly regarded think tanks internationally. CASE carries out policy-oriented research and development assistance projects, specializing in the areas of growth and trade, fiscal policy, labor/social policy/demography, and innovation/environment/climate. Drawing on an experienced in-house staff, a network of fellows, and a database of approximately 1,000 experts, CASE provides rigorous quantitative and qualitative analyses, innovative methodologies, and sound recommendations.

CASE is now seeking a communications manager with a background in communications and a strong interest in working in a professional research and analysis environment. The ideal candidate will be a native English speaker with experience in developing and managing websites and possessing a strong familiarity with current European and global economic, political and public policy issues. The ideal candidate will also have the initiative and commitment to develop and push forward the CASE communications strategy by understanding the core institutional mission and projecting this to relevant stakeholders.

Tasks:

• Further develop and implement a communications strategy in support of our research programs

• Increase the awareness of our activities in Brussels and among European media (press relations, media partnerships & exchanges, email campaigns, increase visibility at major events)

• Organize and promote CASE events, including conferences and seminars

• Deepen the relationship with our CASE partners through regular communication and the development of new initiatives

• Responsible for updating and expanding our website (research of new data, supervise quality of database, etc.)

 

Desired profile:

• At least 1 year experience in a communications position

• Native level English, Polish language fluency a plus

• An interest in, and commitment to, professional economic research and analysis

• Knowledge of European media markets

• Ability to represent CASE professionally to key stakeholders and to serve as the first "point of contact"

• Excellent writing and editing skills, experience in drafting documents such as proposals, reports, project plans and memos

• Demonstrable organizational skills appropriate for a highly multi-tasked environment.

• Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills, open and communicative.

• Capacity to work in a multinational environment

• Familiarity with standard Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook), desktop publishing software, use of a camera and video camera, work with audio-visual files

• Polish citizenship not required. Will arrange work and residency permission
